launched the fundraiser!
I’m raising money for the Royal Veterinary College’s (RVC) Student Research Team (SRT). Our research is aimed at promoting sustainable aquaculture in the Asia-Pacific region.
Today, Asia contributes more than 90% to the world’s aquaculture production, the fastest growing food producing sector in the world. Aquaculture is a significant socio-economic activity, especially for rural communities, contributing to livelihoods, food security and poverty alleviation.
The 2004 tsunami greatly devastated many countries in this region, destroying a lot of farms of poor fishing villages. The rebuilding process has been faced with many challenges; most notably, disease is a primary constraint to the aquaculture, impeding both economic and social development in many countries.
Through our research we aim to promote sustainable aquaculture through the investigation of Better Management Practices (BMPs) with hopes of ensuring environmental sustainability, social equity and food safety of aquaculture products.
Please help donate and in return I will do whatever dare earns the most money!!!
