launched the fundraiser!
Help the José Limón Dance Company raise $50,000 for its amazing 2011 projects!
Here is a taste of what your donation will make possible:
* A revival of José Limón's "The Emperor Jones," based on the Eugene O'Neill play with music by Heitor Villalobos (plus we will have a set and costume design competition around it!)
* Jirí Kylián's "Cathedrale Englutie"
* A new piece for the women of the company by the young talented choreographer Jonathan Fredrickson with a commission score by the Spanish composer Marcos Galvany
* An expansion of the Limon4kids program, started last year to serve more then 300 public school children
* All of the Institute's regular activities: the Professional Studies Program, the Teachers Workshop in US, Europe and Mexico, and our open classes of Limon technique at Peridance Center
To get excited about next year's projects, watch this video of this year's program: http://vimeo.com/9993795
Thank you so much for your support of the Limón Dance Company and for promoting the legacy of José Limón and modern dance!
