We're raising money for Beth's daughter, Caroline Anne, who was born with Spina Bifida. Caroline Anne is the happy, beautiful and extremely smart and funny little girl in the picture. She is an angel who has taught us so much in her 3 years of life. She is a blessing to us and we would change nothing about her but she has and is going to have many hurdles in life.
We are raising money for The Spina Bifida Resource Network, an organization that is committed to the support of those with Spina Bifida and their families. This organization and its many local sectors have been very helpful to us in our time of need and uncertainty.
Spina Bifida is the most commonly occurring complex birth defect in this country affecting over 180,000 individuals. It occurs when the spine of the baby fails to close during the first month of pregnancy, leaving a permanent opening in the spinal column. Those who are born with Spina Bifida must learn to live with conditions such as hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), full or partial paralysis, bladder and bowel complications, learning disabilities, depression, and deadly latex allergy as well as social issues.
We'll proudly do any of these dares to raise money for Caroline Anne and the thousands of other amazing children with Spina Bifida.
